the book of hands
two large books were made to document all the 144 people who contributed to this project. the names are listed in front of the book. judy martin traced the participants hands at a party that celebrated the end of the project and transferred them to the hand made paper in these books. some people photocopied their hands and mailed them to the artist if they were not able to meet up with her in person. the two books remain permanently in little current united church on manitoulin island, ontario, canada. the meditation panels are installed permanently in this building.
